Global warming
Global warming is the long-term rise in Earth’s average temperature caused mainly by human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. For years, climate change has been quietly affecting our world, leaving a deep impact on both nature and people. Coastal zones, islands, and ocean life are under growing danger from rising sea levels. Rainfall has become unpredictable, leading to dry spells in some places while others suffer severe flooding.
The melting of ice sheets and glaciers, driven by rising heat, not only shrinks the polar bear’s home but also puts their survival in danger. Tree loss adds to the problem, especially for animals that live in forests. The warming seas have a harmful chain reaction. Coral reefs are turning white and dying, while plankton numbers are falling. This damage to the ocean system weakens the base of the food supply. Also, diseases like malaria are spreading into new areas that never had them before.
This serious issue needs quick action, especially from rich countries. The United States, a top cause of the issue, must cut down its carbon pollution. Moving away from coal power and using clean sources like wind energy can lower emissions a lot in the next few decades. This is not just about a cleaner planet, but about saving the future for people and the many creatures we live with.
