Our national flag
Our country’s flag is a special sign for all of us. It tells the world that Bangladesh is free and makes its own decisions. Every free country has a flag, and ours is only for Bangladesh! The flag is shaped like a big rectangle, kind of like a wide door. It can be long and narrow (10:6) or a bit shorter and wider (5:3). There are just two colors on our flag: green and red.
The green part stands for the fresh grass and plants that grow all around Bangladesh. It shows how full of life and strong our country is. The red circle looks like the rising sun and reminds us of the day we got our freedom. It also honors the brave people who gave their lives for our country. We often see the flag flying high above schools and important buildings. It makes us feel proud and happy to be part of Bangladesh!
Our flag is something very special that brings us pride. We should always show respect to it, just like we respect our country. It would be wonderful if everyone promised to always honor our flag, no matter what. Let’s all try to do that with heart and pride!
