Once there lived an old farmer. He had two sons. They were strong but lazy. The farmer did not know how to make them work hard. He tried his best, but they did not follow his advice. In the course of time, the farmer became weak and sick.
He was anxious about the future of his sons, and suddenly he hit upon a plan. He called his sons to his bedside and said, “My sons, I’m old and sick. I may die anytime. I want to tell you one thing: there are hidden treasures in the fields. Dig the fields, and you will find them.”
After some days, the old father died. The sons did not forget their father’s words. They went to the fields and dug the soil, but found no treasure.
However, they cultivated the land well. Soon, the fields were full of crops. Then they realized the meaning of their father’s words. They became rich and happy through hard labour.

There lived a wealthy old farmer in a village. He had four sons. They were good. They did not quarrel among themselves, but they did not want to work. When the farmer became sick, he thought and thought, and on his deathbed, he hit upon a plan.
He called his four sons to his bedside and said, “My sons, go to dig lands. I am old and sick. I may die any time. You’ll find my treasures hidden in my lands.”
The sons thought that there were gold bars under the soil of their lands. So, the next day, they started digging the soil of their fields. But they did not find any gold. They dug and dug but failed to get anything.
At last, being annoyed, they stopped digging. But they sowed some seeds in the field, and consequently, they got plenty of crops. This time, the old man said, “See, my sons, here is my treasure in the field.” Since then, the idle boys gave up idleness and started to work hard in the field.
The sons did not forget their father’s hidden treasures, and they went to the fields at once. They dug and dug but failed to get any treasure. They were hopeless, but sowed the fields well.
After a few days, the fields were covered with green plants, and the sons got a good harvest. Now they understood the meaning of their father’s hidden treasures and started working hard in the fields. They became rich and happy. Labour brings good luck.
