Gender Discrimination paragraph for Class 6, 7, 8

Gender Discrimination

Gender discrimination is the difference between males and females regarding the enjoyment of human rights. The main reason for this degrading situation is that the women are not wage-earners, and they have to depend on the male members of the family for their livelihood. It is severe in Bangladesh and starts at birth.

Female children, girls, women, and impoverished old ladies are the worst sufferers. It is thought that, mentally and physically, women are not suitable for many jobs. Most parents want to have children to supplement their family income and help with domestic work as they grow older. In the existing socio-economic setup, male children are best suited to this purpose.

So, parents think the female child is a burden to them. It will hinder progress. But this is not true. Female children may also do remarkable work. They can perform any job as males. Therefore, everybody should treat males and females equally. Only then can this problem be solved.

Gender Discrimination paragraph for SSC & HSC

Gender Discrimination

Gender discrimination/Gender disparity means gender inequality. There is a difference between males and females with respect to enjoying rights. It is a great social problem. It begins at birth in our country. There are some reasons behind it. Social customs and prejudices contribute much to gender disparity. Illiteracy, religious misinterpretation, men’s sense of inferiority towards women, lack of consciousness, etc., are also greatly responsible for our failure to ensure gender equality.

Again, parents generally long for male children so that they can supplement their family income or help with domestic work. Women have to do indoor activities like cooking, cleaning, washing, rearing children, etc. The best food and dress are kept for the male members. Women cannot raise their voices against anything. The effects of gender discrimination are harmful. Girls or women suffer both physically and mentally. They are deprived of proper education.

However, it is high time to ensure gender equality. We should realize that women are equal partners to men. So we should change our outlook towards the girls. Girls should be properly educated and employed. Recently, women’s position has improved compared to before. More effective steps should be taken to remove gender discrimination altogether.
