A Thirsty Crow

Once upon a time, a crow was very thirsty. It flew from place to place in search of water, but unfortunately, it did not find any water.

All of a sudden, it saw a long-necked container. There was a little water at the bottom of the container. The neck of the container was very narrow for the crow to reach the level of the water.

The crow tried its level best to drink but could not. It thought again and again about how it could drink the water from the long-necked container.

Suddenly, it saw that there were some pebbles beside the container. A plan came into its head, and accordingly, it started to drop the pebbles into the container one after another.

At one time, the water level of the container rose to the brim. The crow drank the water to its heart’s content and flew away. Thus, the crow was relieved of its thirst.

Once upon a time, on a hot day in summer, a crow felt very thirsty. It flew to and fro in search of water. But it could not find water anywhere. He continued his search for water.

At last, he saw a jar. He peeped into the jar. There was a little water at the bottom of the jar. But it was too low for the crow. The crow tried to upset the jar. But the crow was not too strong to do it.

The crow was in a fix on what to do. It was about to fly when it saw some pebbles a little away from the jar. At once, the crow hit upon a plan. It began to pick up the stones one by one and drop them into the jar.

When it had dropped a large number of stones, the water in the jar rose high enough for him to reach it. Then the crow quenched its thirst, drinking water to its heart’s content.

It was a summer day. A crow became very thirsty. It began to move here and there in search of drinking water, but in vain. The crow did not lose hope.

At last, it found a little water at the bottom of the jar. The crow tried to drink the water, but it was out of reach.

Next, it tried its best to overturn the jar but in vain. It looked around and found some stones lying near the jar. It thought for a while and hit upon a plan.

It brought the stones one by one and dropped them into the jar. As the stones went down, the water began to rise up and up little by little.

At one time, the water came within the reach of the crow. The crow was able to drink it and satisfy its thirst. Then, it became happy and realized that one can succeed in doing anything by trying again and again.

At last, it grew so thirsty that it thought that it would die. It, however, continued its search and found a jar at some distance.

At once, the crow flew down to have a drink of water from the jar. But it found a little water at the bottom of the jar. It thrust its beak into the jar. It could by no means reach it with its beak.

But it did not lose heart. It tried to overturn the jar but failed. It was about to fly away when it saw some stones a little way from the jar. At once, it hit upon a plan.

It picked up the stones one by one and dropped them into the jar. When he had dropped a large number of stones, the water in the jar rose high enough for him to reach it. Then the crow quenched its thirst, drinking water to its heart’s content.
