Dear Madam,
This is to inform you that yesterday, when I was returning home from school, I suddenly got wet from the rain. My house is far away (from school and it takes me a long time to reach home. I was very wet and felt cold. Later that night, I had a fever and a severe cough. As a result, I could not come to school for three days.
I, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to grant me a leave of absence for those three days only and oblige me thereby.
