A dialogue between two friends on an earthquake.
Mina : Hello, Razu! How’re you?
Razu : I’m fine, and you?
Mina : Fine too. How did you feel when the earthquake shook the whole city last night?
Razu : Oh yes! I still cannot forget the shaking of the earth.
Mina : I can understand how frightening it was for you.
Razu : Oh, my God! It was one of the most terrible moments of my life.
Mina : What were you doing at that time?
Razu : I was in my reading room when the tremor started. I quickly took shelter under my table in fear.
Mina : You did the right thing. Some of my neighbors became so frightened that one of them fell on the stairs.
Razu : Oh, that’s terrible! Was he seriously injured?
Mina: No, but it made me think about how we can stay safe during earthquakes.
Razu : Yes! Just think about the buildings in this city. Many builders do not properly follow construction rules.
Mina : You’re right. Many buildings may collapse during a strong earthquake of 7 or 8 magnitude on the Richter Scale.
Razu : Oh, my God! I cannot even imagine the situation!
Mina : It may cause huge loss of lives and property. The authorities should make strict building rules to reduce the damage.
Razu : Yes, and all buildings must follow those construction rules properly.
Mina : Thank you.
Razu : You’re most welcome.
